On this episode of The Value of Values, Tom Wardach discusses how his career and life have taken him through politics, technology, consulting, acting, writing and producing.
Tom identifies integrity as one of his core values, along with a strong desire to help and mentor others. As we explore those values, the conversation moves through some of the experiences and people that have influenced him along the way.
We talk about his unexpected entry into Philadelphia politics at 18, building a career in technology and consulting, and eventually deciding—at nearly 50—to pursue a longtime interest in acting.
Tom also shares how acting training forced him to look inward, break down some of the corporate persona he had developed, and think differently about vulnerability, empathy, communication and relationships.
And throughout the conversation, we keep coming back to decisions: the opportunities we pursue, the people we listen to, where we choose to put our time and energy, and the impact those choices can have on where we ultimately end up.
Tom puts it simply: “Every single moment of every day is nothing more than a series of choices.”
